One of the great benefits of the White Calling app over other apps, is the ability to make calls in different ways.
You can choose which Call Type is best for you and change this whenever you need to. This setting can be found via the Top Menu in the app.
Here’s a quick video walk-through to show you how to select your Call Type (or you can skip the video and read on):
Call Type options:
1. Local Number Calling
Local Number calling connects your call to a local 'access' number. We then automatically route your call to your international destination. Calls to local numbers are typically included in bundled minutes from a mobile network, so this option is ideal if you have inclusive minutes from your mobile provider.
Is this option for you?
This Call Type is very reliable, offers great call quality and is just like making a normal call. If you have inclusive minutes, we think you’ll love this option.
2. Calling Over Wi-Fi or 3G/4G
With this option, the app makes a call using your phone’s internet (data) connection. This will depend on whether your phone is connected to Wi-Fi or 3G/4G at the time.
Is this option for you?
This option is useful if you don't have inclusive network minutes from your operator. The quality and speed of your connection will affect the quality and reliability of your call.
Note: when making calls over 3G/4G (mobile data), network charges may apply.
3. Calling over Wi-Fi.
With this option, the app will just make calls over Wi-Fi. If you are not connected to Wi-Fi, you will not be able to place a call.
Is this option for you?
This option is best if you do not have inclusive minutes or a large mobile data allowance and is especially useful if you are on PAYG. It is also a great solution when you are roaming, particularly outside of the EU.
On PAYG?
Use this setting to make big savings on local calls (as well as international), when connected to Wi-Fi.
Changing Call Type
